Masca Beach

Located in the municipality of Buenavista del Norte, this beach lies at the end of the spectacular Masca Gorge, one of the island’s most impressive natural settings. Reaching it is an adventure in itself. You can arrive either on foot or by boat, but if you choose the hiking route, be prepared for a demanding trek lasting between two and four hours.

Proper footwear, water, and sun protection are essential. The effort is well worth it, as you’ll walk through dramatic scenery that feels almost untouched by time.

The beach features volcanic black sand and stretches for over half a kilometre, maintaining a completely wild character. Once there, we recommend walking to the left-hand side to find a wider sandy area where you can fully relax and take in your surroundings.

Benijo Beach

Situated in the Anaga district, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, this natural gem is one of the island’s most iconic spots. Access requires a short 15-minute walk from the parking area, mostly via steps, so a reasonable level of fitness is recommended.

Benijo Beach is around 300 metres long, with black volcanic sand and a peaceful atmosphere. Nudism is commonly practiced here. One of its highlights is the breathtaking view of the Roque de Benijo and Roque de la Rapadura — a truly unforgettable seascape.

It is best visited at low tide or while the tide is going out, as high tide can cover much of the beach. As a pristine, undeveloped location, there are no facilities, so make sure to bring food, water, and any essentials you may need.

Antequera Beach

Located in Igueste de San Andrés, this beach remains one of Tenerife’s best-kept secrets. It can be reached by boat or on foot, with the hiking option involving a nearly four-kilometre route with steep ascents and descents.

If you choose to hike, good preparation is key: wear appropriate footwear, bring enough water, and be ready for a challenging but rewarding journey.

Antequera Beach, with its grey sand and approximately 400 metres in length, is completely unspoiled and rarely crowded. Nudism is also common here. The surrounding landscape is stunning, framed by the dramatic backdrop of the Anaga Massif.

As with the other beaches, there are no services available, and it is best visited at low tide, as the sea can cover much of the shore during high tide.
