Peace and tranquility in Mallorca: Caló des Burgit

This post is also available in: esEspañol (Spanish)

If you’re looking for peace and tranquility on your trip to Mallorca and an unspoilt beach that is far from the busy crowds but close to Santanyí or Cala d’Or, then Caló des Burgit is one of the most spectacular options, offering white sandy beaches and turquoise waters.

Es Caló d’es Burgit is a completely unspoilt cove. Don’t expect huge swathes of sand because the beach is only 18 metres long, but this cove sits in natural surroundings of outstanding beauty within the Mondragó Natural Park. Pine forests, calm water and low cliffs form the landscape around this cove in south-east Mallorca.

We recommend you visit the other neighbouring beaches to discover some of the prettiest on the island. You will find a relatively easy path that follows the coast and from which you can see all the beaches in this area, such as Caló Mondragó, S’Amarador, es Caló d’es Burgit and Caló de sa Barca Trencada.

Mondragó Natural Park

The Mondragó Natural Park is one of the most popular nature reserves in Mallorca. Mallorca is much more than sunshine and sand. This is a perfect excursion if you’re looking to lose yourself in natural surroundings. You’ll come across a wide variety of flora and fauna that are characteristic of Mallorca. The park is of great ecological value and offers the perfect plan for enjoying the beauty of everything this landscape has for visitors, including cliffs, the coast, beaches of fine golden sand and crystal-clear water. The wildlife species that live here are endemic to the island of Mallorca.

A wide range of options and activities are available in the park, such as excursions, cycling trails and birdwatching. You will encounter a seemingly endless stream of typically Mediterranean pine forest vistas, with beaches that simply enhance this national park.

Visitors should be aware that steps to protect the park have restricted certain services and that everyone has a responsibility to look after the local flora and fauna.
