Los Cristianos, Playa de las Américas and Costa Adeje

If you are considering a trip to the island of eternal spring, Tenerife is the perfect place for you. Tenerife offers a perfect combination of its four strongest features: the Atlantic Ocean, wild nature, the most complete services and the always friendly and up-beat personality of its people.

If you still can’t decide where to sleep on the island, look no further. Your perfect Bahia Principe hotel awaits. For an exciting holiday full of colour, take a look at Costa Adeje. This area is located in the south-west of the island and offers some charming walks for shopping, a wide range of activities and some spectacular beaches only a stone’s throw away from all the services you need to spend a few days of sunshine in complete comfort.

The south-east of the island offers a rich experience in terms of sunshine, beaches, ports and the legendary landscape of this island. Costa Adeje used to be a very quiet fishing village frequented by locals. The tourism boom has since transformed it into one of the busiest tourist destinations on the island. The long sandy beaches are some of the most exciting and are entirely suitable for children. The night life is for those with boundless energy looking for a good time, while there is also a predictably huge range of great restaurants.

Beaches close to Costa Adeje:

Playa del Duque

This is a beach for those looking for peace and quiet, a sea breeze and sunshine. It is a beach of tourism excellence that offers a very high standard of quality. This beach has earned a blue flag, which guarantees beach quality. It is a place of golden sand where you can relax and enjoy the wide variety of restaurants and shops to be found along the promenade.

Playa de la Encaramada

This is a volcanic sand beach. It is highly characteristic of the landscape you will find on Tenerife. The seaside promenade in Costa Adeje starts on this beach and follows the coastline to Los Cristianos. You can also find San Sebastián Church nearby. This section of the promenade is highly popular with athletes and the not-so-athletic, who use it to walk or run while breathing the sea air. This beach is also one of the places where hang gliders take off.

Los Cristianos is another place in southern Tenerife for relaxing and having a good time. Recharge your batteries on the beach in the morning and then enjoy a cocktail on a terrace on the main strip in the evening. Furthermore, it is possible to make out the nearby island of La Gomera from this town. A broad range of entertainment options and activities is available in the area. Because of its fishing heritage, the essence of its historical town centre has been maintained with a wide variety of restaurants serving delicious fish dishes. The local craftwork shops represent the best selection of small family-run businesses that sell unusual products and souvenirs.

It is quite popular with tourists because it is so close to several hotels. The water here is very calm, so it is perfect for children and families. Playa Las Vistas is one of the 12 beaches in Tenerife that has been adapted for wheelchair access so it has been defined as an “Accessible Beach” by the Island Council of Tenerife, with reserved parking spaces, showers, access ramps and access paths.

Playa de las Américas is a popular family spot in southern Tenerife. This beach is often frequented by the local people because they can enjoy the beach, its facilities and the nearby entertainment and leisure options all year round.
