GRUPO PIÑERO REAFFIRMS ITS COMMITMENT TO THE HEALTH OF THE PLANET ON WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY
– The Group’s responsible management system implies an inescapable link between nature, health and the company
– The health and well-being of both people and their environments, a binomial that continues to guide the Group’s strategy at the present time
Grupo Piñero’s responsible management model is deeply committed to the main international reference frameworks promoted by the United Nations as they are an essential engine for Sustainable Development and Human prosperity.
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals included in its 2030 agenda have become the company’s guide, a true roadmap to identify and achieve its strategic objectives.
Given the current situation worldwide, health and well-being are now more important than ever. Therefore, ensuring the health of people (employees, customers, suppliers and the local community) and the health of the environment of the destinations where we operate, are two basic pillars. We have worked towards these goals for years and will continue to focus on them, both in the short and medium terms.
As stated by Encarna Piñero, CEO of Grupo Piñero:
“We believe that to be active and committed participants in sustainability, companies must focus on people and the environment. It is necessary to create a link between nature, health and business.
We believe that improving people’s physical, mental, and social well-being is not only compatible, but complementary to the task of caring for and conserving the planet, as we plan and manage land in a sustainable way.
We want to take care of people, to ensure their health and tranquility. That is why we have enhanced our protocols of health and safety in our entire company, precisely because we hope to offer them the possibility to live exciting experiences in a safe manner. This is our true purpose in life. In doing so, we must not forget the wonderful environment in which we work, those pieces of paradise whose beauty and wealth we wish to share with those who visit us. This is our home and an essential part of the legacy that we will leave to future generations”.
The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically reminded us that if we want to take care of ourselves, we must first take care of our planet. We must also remember that the imbalance in ecosystems impacts our health and the economic activities we carry out.
Today is World Environment Day, with “For Nature” as the motto. Grupo Piñero joins the celebration with the objective to awaken our consciences and to encourage ourselves to support joint actions to stop the irreparable degradation of biodiversity in the world. Protecting nature is no longer just an option available to us; it is an obligation. This is why Grupo Piñero reaffirms its commitment to protecting the environment and sustainable development for all.
