Did you know that Bahia Principe uses 100% renewable electricity in all of its hotels in Spain? • Thanks to this measure, in 2020 they will stop emitting over 6,658 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere • The action is part of the company’s 2019-2024 Energy Efficiency Measures Plan, developed to reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions • It also calls for adding new types of sustainable energy, as well as intelligent control systems and lighting improvements in the facilities The measure was implemented last year with our energy partner Enovam, and will result in a reduction of 6,658 tons of CO2 emissions in 2020. The Eco-Bahia Foundation Rehabilitates the Kinkajou, a Species in Danger of Extinction
Last week, after rehabilitating it for a year, the Eco-Bahia Foundation released this cute little animal back into the jungle. The Wildlife Rescue and Control Program that the Eco-Bahia Foundation runs in Mexico aims to strike a balance between promoting tourist activity and fostering the growth of wildlife populations. This occurs within a framework of responsibility, conscientiousness, and concern for protecting and preserving natural resources. As part of this mission, it rescued and took care of a kinkajou, also called a “martucha” locally, which is a species related to raccoons and coatimundis that is in danger of going extinct.
