Here are the Top 5 outings at Gran Bahía Príncipe Jamaica, the most surprising outings that are the favourites of our clients.
Port Antonio and Blue Lagoon
Between the Blue Mountains and the Caribbean Sea lies Port Antonio, capital of Portland which offers a mix of mountains, lush flora, white sand beaches and spectacular cliffs. In the decades of the 1940s and 50s, Jamaica and Port Antonio were discovered by Hollywood's rich and famous who turned it into the preferred vacation spot of the stars, including Errol Flynn and other great artists. Following a stop in Somerset Falls we'll continue to the wild beach of Frenchman´s Cove for lunch. The Blue Lagoon is a natural lagoon that is 55 metres deep. After the success of the film "The Blue Lagoon" it is a must-visit place. Depending on the angle of the sun you can see the colour change from turquoise blue to deep sapphire. When you swim in the blue lagoon, you'll be able to notice the warm water currents from the Caribbean Sea and the refreshing jets of cold fresh water from the underground rivers that feed the lagoon.
Negril + Catamaran
We'll leave from the Bahía Príncipe hotel, along the highway toward Negril, where we'll see the beautiful villas of Runaway Bay, Falmouth, Rose Hall, Ironshore, Montego Bay, Hopewell and Sandy Bay. We'll make a stop in Margaritaville, located on the long 7-mile Negril beach. Here we'll take the catamaran. We'll sail along the "Pirate's Cave". We can swim in the deep and crystal clear waters and experience the thrill of diving from the rocks. After all these marvellous experiences we'll enjoy lunch in Margaritaville. Free time at the beach. Finally, we'll see a magnificent sunset in the famous “RICKS CAFÉ”.
Black River & Ys Falls
The YS Waterfalls are a marvel of nature, located in the hills of the south coast of Jamaica, near the town of “Black River”. It is a spectacular waterfall surrounded by wild tropical vegetation. An unforgettable location to visit and enjoy. We'll sail for an hour and a half along the longest navigable river in Jamaica, and throughout the largest swampy area of the island, the "Black River" morass. The captain/guide will explain the ecology and history of the area. We can see many of the hundred species of birds that coexist there, as well as the American crocodile, which is in danger of extinction. You can't miss it.
Luminous lagoon
This lagoon, surrounded by mangroves, is the home of microscopic organisms that emit a phosphorescent light when the water is disturbed. At twilight, we can appreciate one of the wonders of Jamaica. When the water moves, we see a slight lighting up of the waters. By waving your hands or dragging a stick in it, the water glows in the dark. We can also swim in the luminous waters (it is approximately 1.5m deep).
Bob Marley Mausoleum
The outing will take us along the north coast to "Runaway Bay" and then to the south into the countryside through the village of "Brown Town", where we make a 20-minute stop; from here we'll continue toward the birthplace of Bob Marley, a legend and a Reggae music icon, where his remains are held. A member of the Rastafari cult will tell us stories from the life of the famous singer/songwriter. We'll return to the hotel through Gully Farm.
